Ease of Doing Business – State Rankings 2024

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) rankings to assess states’ performance in promoting ease of doing business.

Key Highlights:

1. Top Performers: Kerala (1st), Andhra Pradesh (2nd), Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh.
2. Low Performers: Arunachal Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Puducherry.
3. State Initiatives:
   • Odisha: Mining sector reforms.
   • UP: Investment promotion.
   • Maharashtra: FDI attraction via improved infrastructure.
   • Sikkim: Value addition in organic farming.
4. Policy Approach: States are encouraged to adopt best practices from others to enhance competitiveness.
