International Day of Older Persons 2025 Celebrated in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh

- The Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJE), in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, organized the International Day of Older Persons 2025 celebration at the DIET Auditorium, Badaun.

- The celebration in Badaun reflected India’s continued commitment to elder care, combining policy outreach, cultural awareness, and community engagement.
- The Minister emphasized the importance of senior citizens in maintaining the family structure and the need to address their concerns promptly through government initiatives.
- Various ongoing welfare programmes were highlighted, including the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY), Elderline 14567 Helpline, and the Senior Citizens Welfare Portal.
- Shri Verma also mentioned the establishment of Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendras, aimed at providing assistive devices and services for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
- The event served to promote intergenerational bonding, community participation, and awareness about elder rights and care.

- Conducted under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” to promote environmental responsibility and emotional connection.
