Khelo India University Games 2025 to be held in Rajasthan this November

Venues: Jaipur – jointly organised by Poornima University & Rajasthan University

Key Points:

Participation: 4,000+ athletes from 200+ universities (Under-25 multi-sport event).
Sports: Competitions in 20+ disciplines.
Significance: Flagship initiative of the Khelo India Programme (launched 2020).
Provides a national platform for university athletes to showcase talent before scouts & federations.
Rajasthan hosting follows the successful Khelo India Youth Games (U-18) in Bihar, May 2025.

KIUG 2024 (Northeast India recap):

Hosted across 7 northeastern states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, Tripura).
Athletes: ~4,500 | Sports: 20 | Medals: 770 total (240 Gold, 240 Silver, 290 Bronze).
Top Universities:
- 🥇 Chandigarh University – Overall Team Champion
- 🥈 Lovely Professional University – 20 Gold, 14 Silver, 8 Bronze (42 total)
- 🥉 Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar – 12 Gold, 20 Silver, 19 Bronze (51 total)
Individual Highlights:
- Pratyasa Ray (Utkal University, Swimming): Most successful female athlete – 4 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze.
- Xavier Michael Dsouza (Jain University, Swimming): Top male athlete – 4 Gold.
Records: 8 new athletics records (5 by men).
