  • RBI launched three important surveys to collect inputs for upcoming Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decisions (June 4–6 meeting).
  • These surveys assess inflation expectations and consumer confidence across India.

Surveys Launched

  1. Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH)
    • Covers 19 cities.
    • Captures households’ subjective assessment of price movements and inflation.
    • Based on individual consumption baskets.
  2. Urban Consumer Confidence Survey (UCCS)
    • Conducted in 19 cities.
    • Seeks qualitative responsesfrom urban households on:
      • General economic situation
      • Employment scenario
      • Price levels
      • Income & spending
  3. Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS)
    • Covers households across 31 states/UTs.
    • Collects current perceptions & one-year-ahead expectationson:
      • General economy
      • Employment
      • Prices
      • Own income & spending
