1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI)

• Sanjay Malhotra appointed 26th Governor, RBI with effect from 11 Dec 2024 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
• Dr Poonam Gupta appointed Deputy Governor, RBI for a three-year term (2025).
• Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Reconstitution:
  • Prof. Ram Singh, Saugata Bhattacharya, and Dr Nagesh Kumar appointed as external members of the RBI MPC (Oct 2024).
• T. Rabi Sankar, Deputy Governor, RBI, was appointed as a part-time member of the 16th Finance Commission (Jun 2025).

2. Finance Commission (16th)

• T. Rabi Sankar took over as part-time member of 16th Finance Commission until Oct 31, 2025, following Ajay Narayan Jha’s resignation.
• (Earlier in early 2024) Ajay Narayan Jha was among the earlier appointed full-time members along with Annie George Mathew and Niranjan Rajadhyaksha.

3. Election Commission of India (ECI)

• Gyanesh Kumar appointed as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in Feb 2025, succeeding Rajiv Kumar, marking first CEC under the new appointment law.
• Vivek Joshi, IAS appointed as Election Commissioner of India alongside Gyanesh Kumar (Feb 2025).

4. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

• Preeti Sudan, former Health Secretary, was appointed Chairperson, UPSC from 1 Aug 2024 to 29 Apr 2025 (interim tenure).
• Dr Ajay Kumar, IAS, former Defence Secretary, appointed Chairman, UPSC with effect from May 2025 (President-approved).
• Sujata Chaturvedi assumed charge as a Member, UPSC (May 2025).

5. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

• Tuhin Kanta Pandey, IAS appointed 11th Chairman, SEBI from 1 Mar 2025 onwards.

6. Central Information Commission (CIC)

• Raj Kumar Goyal, former Law Secretary, appointed Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of India in Dec 2025.

7. International & Other Multilateral Roles (Indian Nominees)

• Urjit Patel, former RBI Governor, appointed Executive Director of India at IMF (2025) — a key representation role at the International Monetary Fund.
