MSME Technology Centre & Extension Centres Inaugurated in Bihar

Introduction

On 28 April 2026, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary jointly inaugurated the MSME Technology Centre at Sikandarpur, Bihta (Patna) along with four MSME Extension Centres in Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, Darbhanga and Munger.The initiative aims to strengthen Bihar's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem by providing advanced technology, skill development, technical consultancy and entrepreneurship support. The programme also included the inauguration of the Entrepreneur Awareness and Special Vendor Development Programme under the National SC/ST Hub Scheme. (Press Information Bureau)


ANALYSIS

The Technology Centre project is one of Bihar's largest MSME capacity-building initiatives. It seeks to improve industrial competitiveness, promote innovation, create skilled manpower and encourage entrepreneurship, especially among youth and SC/ST entrepreneurs.The project aligns with the Government of India's vision of "Make in India", "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" and Bihar's objective of becoming an industrially stronger state.
