Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana & Patna Metro Inauguration 

Introduction

On 6 October 2025, just hours before the announcement of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred ₹2,100 crore directly into the bank accounts of 21 lakh women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (MMRY). On the same day, he also inaugurated the first operational phase of the Patna Metro, Bihar's first metro rail service.These two initiatives represented the Bihar government's major push towards women's economic empowerment and urban infrastructure development.

1. Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (MMRY)

Objective

The scheme aims to make one woman from every family economically self-reliant by providing financial assistance to start a business or self-employment activity.

  • Given as seed capital for starting an enterprise.

Second Stage

After evaluation of the business,

  • Additional assistance of up to ₹2 lakh is provided.

On the same day, Nitish Kumar inaugurated the first operational section of the Patna Metro.
