Eminent IAS – “Error Claim Guarantee” Policy (Test Series 2025)

At Eminent IAS, we are committed to maintaining the highest academic integrity and quality in every test we create. To ensure transparency and fairness, we introduce the “Error Claim Guarantee” Policy — a first-of-its-kind initiative in our UPSC Test Series, rewarding candidates who identify genuine errors in our tests.

1️ Out of Syllabus / Irrelevant Question – ₹1000 per question

  • Any question that falls completely outside the UPSC syllabus or its core subject domains (Polity, Economy, History, Geography, Environment, Science & Technology, Disaster Management, or Current Affairs) will be considered “Out of Syllabus.”
  • Example: A question like “Write a computer program to calculate sum” is Out of Syllabus, whereas “COBOL is a programming language or not?” is Valid General Knowledge.

2️ Wrong / Factually Incorrect Question – ₹300 per question

  • A question will be treated as Factually Incorrect if it contains false, misleading, or wrong information when verified against standard and authoritative UPSC reference sources. For the purposes of this policy, accepted sources include (but are not limited to): NEWSONAIR, The Hindu, PIB, Indian Express, Times of India, Hindustan Times, Business Standard, Business Line, Financial Times, Financial Express, ET Infra, Mint, The Guardian, Down to Earth, Moneycontrol, Business Today, Businessworld, DD News, ANI, PTI, Reuters, India Budget Portal, or any other recognized international/national journals or established news-agency sources.
  • Important: A claim under this category will be considered valid only if the claimant provides the specific reference(s) from the accepted sources listed above (or other credible equivalents). If the Eminent IAS academic review team is unable to obtain or verify the referenced source(s) provided by the claimant, the claim will be treated as invalid/false.
  • Example: “Akbar was born in America — who was the father of Akbar?” is a Factually Incorrect Question and would be verified against the accepted sources.

3️ Incorrect / Multiple Correct Options – ₹200 per question

  • If the correct option is missing, or if more than one option can be verified as correct through authentic sources, such questions will fall under this category.
  • Example: “Which of the following is a part of the human body? (a) Ear (b) Nose (c) Wood (d) America” — this question has Incorrect Options.

4️ Spelling / Typographical Error – ₹500 per mistake

  • Any spelling, grammar, or typing error in a question or its options will be eligible for this claim.
  • Example: “Goverment” instead of “Government” is a Spelling Error.

 Claim Procedure

  1. Candidates must report the identified error within 48 hours of the test release.
  2. The report must include: Question Number, Test Name, Error Type, and Reference Source(s) for verification (where applicable).
  3. The academic review team will evaluate the claim within 7 working days.
  4. If the claim is found valid, the respective claim amount will be credited to the candidate or adjusted against future test series fees at the candidate's preference.

Terms & Conditions

  • All claims must be supported by authentic reference sources as specified in this policy.
  • The decision of the Eminent IAS Academic Council will be final in verifying and approving claims.
  • This policy is applicable only for the Eminent IAS Test Series 2025.
  • False, frivolous, or misleading claims may lead to disqualification from future benefits or from participating in claim rewards.
  • Eminent IAS reserves the right to update the list of accepted sources and the policy terms; any updates will be communicated to registered candidates.
  • This policy will be applicable to all Test Series (Free and Paid) and to all enrolled candidates of Eminent IAS. It will be effective from 24th October 2025.
