Sepaktakraw World Cup 2025 (Bihar)

  • Event & Venue: Held from 20–25 March 2025 at Patliputra Indoor Stadium, Kankarbagh, Patna, Bihar.

  • Organisers: Hosted by the Sepaktakraw Federation of India and organised by the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF).

  • Participation: 20 countries, 300+ players & coaches.

  • India’s Achievement:

    • Gold: Men’s Regu team (defeated Japan).

    • Silver: Women’s Doubles team.

    • Bronze: Men’s Doubles, Women’s Regu, Mixed Quad, Women’s Quad, Men’s Quad.

    • Total medals: 7 (India ranked 4th in medal tally; Thailand topped).

    • Historic win: First-ever gold for India in Sepaktakraw World Cup history.

  • About the Game: Traditional Malaysian sport combining football & volleyball; introduced in India in 1980s (Nagpur). Sepaktakraw Federation of India formed in 1982; HQ in New Delhi.

  • ISTAF: Founded in 1982, HQ in Bangkok, Thailand.
