Event & Venue: Held from 20–25 March 2025 at Patliputra Indoor Stadium, Kankarbagh, Patna, Bihar.
Organisers: Hosted by the Sepaktakraw Federation of India and organised by the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF).
Participation: 20 countries, 300+ players & coaches.
India’s Achievement:
Gold: Men’s Regu team (defeated Japan).
Silver: Women’s Doubles team.
Bronze: Men’s Doubles, Women’s Regu, Mixed Quad, Women’s Quad, Men’s Quad.
Total medals: 7 (India ranked 4th in medal tally; Thailand topped).
Historic win: First-ever gold for India in Sepaktakraw World Cup history.
About the Game: Traditional Malaysian sport combining football & volleyball; introduced in India in 1980s (Nagpur). Sepaktakraw Federation of India formed in 1982; HQ in New Delhi.
ISTAF: Founded in 1982, HQ in Bangkok, Thailand.
