🔑 Key Highlights

  1. India’s Role
    • Currently Vice-Chair of IORA and part of the Troika (Chair, Vice-Chair, Previous Chair).
    • Will assume Chairship of IORA for 2025–2027.
  2. Participation
    • Attended by Ministers and high-level delegates from all 22 Member States and 12 Dialogue Partners.
  3. Outcomes
    • Adoption of the “Colombo Communiqué”.
    • Focused discussions on:
      • Strengthening IORA.
      • Regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean.
      • Maritime security, economic growth, sustainability.
  4. India’s Statement
    • Emphasized Vision of the Indian Ocean Region: well-being, peace, and progress of member nations.
    • Stressed cooperation & convergence on regional issues.
    • Strongly condemned terrorism in all forms, including state-sponsored terrorism, as a threat to peace and development.
