    • First-of-its-kind vertical bi-facial solar panel system in India
    • Captures sunlight from both sides
    • Mounted on metro viaduct, thus no additional land required
    • Innovative use of elevated metro structure for clean energy

☀️ Rooftop Solar Plant

  • Location: Khyber Pass Metro Depot
  • Capacity: 1 MW rooftop solar power plant

🌍 Broader Significance

  • DMRC is a pioneer in solar power integration and energy-efficient metro systems
  • Indian metro networks (Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune) have received IGBC green certificationsfor:
    • Energy-efficient station designs
    • Use of green building materials
    • Solar rooftop systems
    • Regenerative braking systems to conserve energy
