Bengaluru Ranks 14th Among World’s Top Startup Ecosystems

- Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, has achieved 14th place globally in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) 2025 by Startup Genome, moving up seven ranks from its 21st position last year. This marks the largest jump among the top 20 startup cities worldwide.
- Bengaluru is India’s highest-ranked city in the report, ahead of Delhi (29th) and Mumbai (40th), reflecting the city’s leadership in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

- The report highlighted several high-value IPO successesof Bengaluru-based startups in 2024:
- Indegene: ₹1.11 lakh crore
- Swiggy: ₹96,000 crore
- GoDigit: ₹30,000 crore
- Blackbuck: ₹8,600 crore
These IPOs delivered significant returns to early investors and enhanced India’s reputation as a thriving startup nation.
- Experts attribute Bengaluru’s rise to government support for the deep tech ecosystem, a strong talent pool, and an environment conducive to innovation.
