Bihar CM announces ₹10 lakh award for each player of India men’s hockey squad

The Chief Minister of Bihar announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh for each player of the Indian men’s hockey team following their victory in the Hero Asia Cup 2025.
A ₹5 lakh reward was also announced for each member of the support staff.
India defeated Korea 4–1 in the final held at Rajgir, marking the first time the tournament was hosted at the State Sports Academy and Bihar Sports University campus, Rajgir.
The victory ended an eight-year gap for India in winning the Asia Cup.
With this win, India qualified for the FIH World Cup 2026, to be hosted jointly by Belgium and the Netherlands.
The announcement reflects Bihar’s focus on sports promotion, athlete encouragement, and sports infrastructure development.
