Bihar Cabinet Approves New Internship Scheme for Youth – Rs 4,000 to 6,000 Monthly

• The scheme was approved in the Bihar Cabinet meeting.
• The government has previously increased pension amounts under state schemes, e.g., from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100 per month.
• Artists in Bihar will receive Rs 3,000 monthly under the Chief Minister Artist Pension Scheme.
• To preserve fading folk arts, the government announced the Guru-Shishya Parampara Scheme.
• The new internship program, CM Pratigya Scheme, aims to provide skill-based training and practical work experience to students and graduates.

Financial Allocation:

• For FY 2025-26, Rs 40.69 crore has been allocated.
• From 2026-27 to 2030-31, Rs 129 crore will be spent annually.

Stipend Structure:

• 12th pass students: Rs 4,000/month
• Diploma/ITI holders: Rs 5,000/month
• Graduates/Postgraduates: Rs 6,000/month

Eligibility:

• Candidates must complete training under the state’s skill development program to apply for internships.
• This year, 5,000 youths will be selected, with a plan to reach 1 lakh beneficiaries over the next five years.

This scheme is expected to provide significant financial support and skill development opportunities for Bihar’s youth, helping them gain experience and strengthen employability.
