Bihar Cabinet Approves New Internship Scheme for Youth – Rs 4,000 to 6,000 Monthly
- The scheme was approved in the Bihar Cabinet meeting.
- The government has previously increased pension amounts under state schemes, e.g., from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100 per month.
- Artists in Bihar will receive Rs 3,000 monthly under the Chief Minister Artist Pension Scheme.
- To preserve fading folk arts, the government announced the Guru-Shishya Parampara Scheme.
- The new internship program, CM Pratigya Scheme, aims to provide skill-based training and practical work experience to students and graduates.
Financial Allocation:
- For FY 2025-26, Rs 40.69 crore has been allocated.
- From 2026-27 to 2030-31, Rs 129 crore will be spent annually.
Stipend Structure:
- 12th pass students: Rs 4,000/month
- Diploma/ITI holders: Rs 5,000/month
- Graduates/Postgraduates: Rs 6,000/month
Eligibility:
- Candidates must complete training under the state’s skill development program to apply for internships.
- This year, 5,000 youths will be selected, with a plan to reach 1 lakh beneficiaries over the next five years.
This scheme is expected to provide significant financial support and skill development opportunities for Bihar’s youth, helping them gain experience and strengthen employability.
