1. Overall Complaints:
   • Total complaints received by NCW in 2024 (till June): 12,648.
   • Categories include harassment, domestic violence, dowry harassment, molestation, police apathy, rape, sexual harassment, cybercrime, stalking, and honour crimes.
2. Top States by Number of Complaints:
   • Uttar Pradesh: 6,492 complaints – highest in India (~51% of total).
   • Delhi: 1,119 complaints.
   • Maharashtra: 764 complaints.
   • Other notable states: Bihar 586, Madhya Pradesh 516, Haryana 509, Rajasthan 409, West Bengal 307, Karnataka 305, Tamil Nadu 304.
3. Category-wise Highlights:
   • Right to dignity (non-domestic harassment): 3,567 complaints – highest category.
   • Domestic violence: 3,213 complaints.
   • Dowry harassment: 1,963 complaints.
   • Molestation: 821 complaints.
   • Police apathy against women: 524 complaints.
   • Rape & attempt to rape: 658 complaints.
   • Sexual harassment: 495 complaints.
   • Cybercrime: 339 complaints.
   • Stalking: 345 complaints.
   • Honour crimes: 206 complaints.
4. Interesting Observations:
   • Manipur, despite ethnic conflicts, recorded only 3 complaints in 2024.
   • Uttar Pradesh continues to dominate both in absolute complaints and in the right-to-dignity category.
