  • On the second day of his historic visit to Cyprus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.
  • During a one-on-one meeting with President Nikos Christodoulides, PM Modi was conferred with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III – the highest civilian honour of the Republic of Cyprus.
  • This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in over two decades.
  • PM Modi dedicated the honour to the 1.4 billion people of India, highlighting the growing recognition of India’s global role.
