The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) issued the first amendment to its net metering guidelines on 1 May 2025.
It waives application and registration fees for domestic consumers installing rooftop solar systems up to 10 kW under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
This aims to reduce the initial financial burden and promote wider rooftop solar adoption in Delhi.
The amendment was issued using powers under the Electricity Act, 2003.
It supports national renewable energy targets and Delhi’s clean energy transition.
