The tenth edition of Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest startup and investor connector event, opened at Dubai Harbour, marking a decade of fostering innovation-driven global partnerships. Organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the event serves as the startup showcase of GITEX GLOBAL, bringing together the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs, investors, and technology leaders under one platform.Spanning 12–15 October 2025, the event features over 2,000 startups and 1,200 investors from 180 countries, reflecting its transformation into a critical nexus for the global innovation ecosystem.

Launched in 2016, Expand North Star has emerged as a global stage for technology-driven entrepreneurship, enabling over 8,000 founders to scale their ventures. Its decade-long journey aligns closely with the UAE’s Vision 2031, which seeks to create 30,000 new digital economy jobs and foster at least ten unicorns by 2031.This year’s edition marks a significant milestone — its 10th anniversary — symbolizing the UAE’s growing influence in nurturing innovation ecosystems and facilitating cross-border collaboration in emerging technologies.

    • The event hosts startups and investors from 180 nations, managing combined assets exceeding USD 1.1 trillion.

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI), Climate Technology, Deep Tech, Digital Health, and Fintech dominate the thematic areas.

    • Mobile and Electronic Devices Export Promotion Council (MEDEPC) – 45 startups
    • Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) – 35 startups
    • Telecom Equipment Export Promotion Council (TEPC) – 20 startups
    • Startup Karnataka – 20 startups
    • Additional contributions from Startup India, IIT Madras, Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (TNT Hub), and 45 independent participants.

Over the past decade, India has contributed nearly 800 exhibitors to Expand North Star and GITEX combined, spanning AI, SaaS, healthtech, edtech, and fintech. Dubai’s geographical proximity to Indian innovation hubs — merely 3–4 hours from major cities — coupled with favourable regulatory frameworks and venture capital access, has made it a preferred gateway for Indian startups seeking international scale.
