Context:

  • For the first time ever, the state-level Himachal Day (78th) celebrations were held in the remote Killar, Pangi Valley, Chamba district on 15 April 2025.
  • CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu unfurled the National Flag, addressed the people, and made key developmental announcements.

Key Announcements & Initiatives

  1. Natural Farming & Agriculture
    • Pangi declared Himachal’s first Natural Farming Sub-Division.
    • ₹5 crore revolving fund for natural farming.
    • MSP of ₹60/kg for naturally grown barley.
    • Milk processing plant (10,000 litre capacity) announced.
    • Agriculture Interest Subvention Scheme – 50% govt. contribution on loan interest (up to ₹3 lakh).
    • MSP for milk raised – cow milk ₹51/litre, buffalo milk ₹61/litre.
  2. Infrastructure & Connectivity
    • Roads: Udaipur–Killar road improvement a top priority (tender process advanced).
    • ₹45.50 crore for 33 KV line Thirot–Killar.
    • ₹5 crore for 11 KV line Tindi–Shaur.

  3. Transport & Tourism
    • 20 new bus permits + 40% subsidy on bus purchases.

    • Crackdown on drug menace – strengthening of Anti-Narcotics Task Force, new special task force.
