India first among G-20 nations to meet Paris Agreement goals

    • India is first among G-20 nations to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

    • India’s solar energy generation capacity increased 32 times in the last 10 years.
    • India is now the third-largest solar power generating nation globally.
  3. Non-Fossil Fuel Energy:
    • Non-fossil fuel capacity tripled in the last decade.
    • Target: 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.
  4. Biofuels & Ethanol Blending:
    • 19% ethanol blending currently; target 20% before October 2025.
    • India has a sustainable feedstock of 500 million metric tonnes.
    • Member of Global Biofuels Alliance (28 nations + 12 international organisations).
  5. Green Hydrogen:
    • Target: 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year by 2030.
  6. Indian Railways & Carbon Neutrality:
    • Aim: Net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
  7. Gas & Refining Sector:
    • India is 4th largest refining hub.
    • Plans to increase capacity by 20%.
  8. Solar Manufacturing & PLI Scheme:
    • Solar PV module manufacturing capacity increased from 2 GW to 70 GW in 10 years.
    • Growth accelerated by PLI (Production-Linked Incentive) scheme.
