Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Paris and Marseille, France, on 10–12 February 2025, coinciding with India’s co-presidency of the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit hosted by France. The visit included a bilateral segment in Marseille. Several strategic initiatives and agreements were announced during this visit.Key Outcomes:1. Partnership for Security and Sovereignty
- Defence:
- Continued cooperation on fighter aircraft and submarines, including 26 Rafale jets and 3 Scorpène submarines (order placed in July 2023).
- Sixth Scorpène submarine delivered in January 2025.
- Strengthened collaboration between France’s Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) and India’s DRDO.
- Civil Nuclear Energy:
- Declaration of Intent on advanced modular reactors (AMR) and small modular reactors (SMR).
