Maha govt signs 31 MoUs for investmentproposals worth Rs 6,25,457 crore

📰 In News: Maharashtra Signs Record ₹6.25 Lakh Crore Investment MoUs at Davos

  • On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Summit at Davos, the Maharashtra government signed 31 MoUs worth ₹6,25,457 crore — the highest-ever single-day investment commitments for the state.
  • The MoUs span steel, metals, renewable energy, infrastructure, cement, lithium-ion batteries, solar modules, data centres, EVs, education, defence, electronics, logistics, and F&B sectors.
  • Signed in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, who termed it a historic boost for ‘Green Maharashtra’ mission and employment generation.
  • Major deals & highlights:
    • JSW Group: ₹3,00,000 crore in renewable energy, cement, infrastructure, Li-ion batteries, solar modules (10,000 jobs) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Gadchiroli, Nagpur.
    • Tata Group: ₹30,000 crore across multiple sectors.
    • Waaree Energy: ₹30,000 crore in green energy & solar components (7,500 jobs).
    • Blackstone–Panchshil Realty: ₹25,000 crore data centre (500 jobs) + ₹25,000 crore in IT in MMR (1,000 jobs).
    • ReNew Power: 15,000 MW wind energy projects in Beed (pipeline discussed).
    • ZR2 Group: ₹17,500 crore in EVs/automobiles in Pune (4,000 jobs).
    • Reliance Infrastructure: ₹16,500 crore in defence (2,450 jobs).
    • Balasore Alloys: ₹17,000 crore in steel/metals (3,200 jobs).
    • Kalyani Group: ₹5,250 crore in defence/EV/steel in Gadchiroli (4,000 jobs).
    • Many others: Avani Power Batteries, H2ePower, Welspun, Essar-Blue Energy, Olectra EV, CEAT, Bisleri, BookMyShow, AB InBev, Gensol etc.
  • These investments are expected to create over 75,000 new jobs across Maharashtra.
  • CM Fadnavis met CEOs of Tata, Carlsberg, Lulu Group, Schneider Electric, Mastercard, Louis Dreyfus, Cognizant etc. to promote Maharashtra as a global investment hub.
