In News  – High-Level Meeting on PM Gati Shakti in Bihar

What Happened?

• A high-level meeting on the implementation of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) in Bihar was held.
• Chaired by Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena (Govt of Bihar) along with Dr. Pratima, Secretary, Department of Science, Technology & Technical Education.
• Attended by the Director General of BISAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications & Geo-Informatics).

Key Institutional Roles

• National Nodal Agency: BISAG-N (designated at central level).
• State Nodal Department (Bihar): Department of Industries.
• Technical Support Agency: Bihar Remote Sensing Application Centre (BIRSAC), Dept. of Science & Technology.

Highlights of the Meeting

• A PowerPoint presentation on the PM Gati Shakti plan in Bihar was given by Dr. Subha Sinha (State Nodal Officer).
• DG BISAG-N gave key suggestions and directed:
  • Immediate training workshops for BIRSAC officials & state departmental nodal officers.
  • 3-day workshop scheduled (11–13 August 2025) at BIRSAC.
  • Periodic training to be continued by BISAG-N experts.

Implementation in Bihar

• All state projects are being uploaded to the PM Gati Shakti portal.
• Expected Outcomes:
  • Faster and integrated decision-making.
  • Improved coordination among departments.
  • Speedier implementation of infrastructure & development projects.
