PM Modi Conferred with Trinidad and Tobago’s Highest Civilian Honour
- On July 4, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with “The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago”, the country’s highest civilian honour.
- The award recognises his global leadership, humanitarian efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, and deep engagement with the Indian diaspora.
- This is PM Modi’s first visit to Trinidad and Tobago as Prime Minister, and the first Indian bilateral visit at the Prime Ministerial level since 1999.
- During his visit, he also gifted holy water from Mahakumbh and a replica of the Ram Mandir to the Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago.
- Earlier, in Ghana, he was conferred with “The Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana”, the national honour of Ghana.
