PM Modi’s Independence Day 2025 Speech – Key Highlights on Energy Sector:

1. Energy Self-Reliance Mission
   • India working in mission mode to achieve self-reliance in the energy sector.
   • Focus on reducing dependency on costly oil and gas imports.
   • Goal: Free resources for poverty alleviation and agricultural support.
2. National Deepwater Mission
   • Launched for oil and gas exploration and production.
   • Part of “Samudra Manthan” initiative to scout domestic reserves.
3. Critical Minerals Mission
   • National Critical Minerals Mission launched for exploration of rare and strategic minerals.
   • Aims to reduce import dependency, important for defence and economic growth.
4. Nuclear Energy Expansion
   • Ten new reactors planned; goal to increase nuclear power capacity tenfold by 2047.
   • Private sector participation now allowed in nuclear energy.
5. Renewable Energy Achievements
   • India has already achieved the 2030 target of 50% energy capacity from clean resources, five years ahead of schedule.
   • Solar power capacity has grown 30 times in past 11 years.
   • Significant investments under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
6. Youth Engagement & Biofuels
   • Youth encouraged to utilize incentives under the National Biofuel Policy for clean energy projects.
7. Water Security & Indus Water Treaty
   • India will prevent misuse of the IWT by Pakistan affecting irrigation.
