Objective:

• To promote adoption of rooftop solar energy and increase renewable energy capacity at the household level.

Targets & Timelines:

• Total Target: 8 lakh solar rooftop plants by March 2027.
• Current Financial Year (2025-26) Target: 2.65 lakh units.
• Monthly Target: 22,000 installations (~300 installations per district).

Implementation & Monitoring:

• Lead Agency: Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
• Monitoring Tool: Chief Minister’s dashboard for real-time progress tracking.
• District-Level Approach: Targets set at district, DISCOM, municipal corporation, and municipality levels.

Progress (As of April 2025):

• Applications Received: 10.73 lakh on the portal.
• Installations Completed: Over 1 lakh rooftop solar systems.
• Monthly Installation Rate: ~11,000 units per month (~500 per day).
• Vendor Empanelment: Over 2,500 vendors empanelled; 1,800 trained.
• Financial Support: Access to loans and credit guarantee schemes for vendors.

Capacity Building:

• Training programs conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Ministry of Skill Development, GoI, and UPNEDA.
