The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed a five-year agreement with the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) for joint research and development aimed at strengthening Aadhaar’s robustness, security, and reliability.The collaboration will focus on:

- Development of biometric liveness detection tools to prevent spoofing.
- Improvements in biometric matching algorithms for higher accuracy.
- Other priority areas identified for enhancing Aadhaar operations.
This initiative aligns with Digital India objectives and aims to ensure that Aadhaar remains a secure, trusted, and inclusive digital identity platform, critical for governance, service delivery, and welfare schemes.
