1. ONLY Potential Energy (PE)
👉 Energy due to position or configuration, no motion
Examples:
- Water stored in a dam (not flowing)
- A stretched/compressed spring at rest
- A book kept on a shelf
- A stone held at height (not moving)
✔ Object is at rest → only PE
2. ONLY Kinetic Energy (KE)
👉 Energy due to motion only, negligible height/position effect
Examples:
- Moving car on a flat road
- Rolling ball on ground
- Running person
- Bullet in motion
✔ Object is moving → only KE
3. BOTH PE & KE
👉 Object has height (PE) + motion (KE)
Examples:
- A pendulum in motion (not at extreme)
- Ball thrown upward (in air)
- Roller coaster moving at height
- Water falling from a waterfall
✔ Moving + at height → both PE & KE
4. NONE (No PE, No KE)
👉 No motion + no significant height
Examples:
- Stone lying on ground
- Book kept on floor
- Ball at rest on ground
✔ No motion + ground level → no PE, no KE (approx.)
